In a communiqué, the Peruvian Government lamented and rejected the fact that Nicolas Maduro had fraudulently assumed the Presidency of Venezuela.

"The Government of Peru firmly supports and demands that the restoration of democratic institutions be started immediately, through a process of peaceful transition that respects the legitimate will of the Venezuelan people," the statement added.
