on Tuesday emphasized his commitment to fostering ongoing dialogue with subnational authorities, the private sector, and Congress, among others, to promote a collaborative effort that will allow Peru’s economy to achieve 4% growth this year.
"I am fully confident that Peru's economy will grow by 4% this year. Through teamwork, we will reach that goal and look toward the future with greater optimism," he stated during the presentation of projects from the Mancomunidad de Los Andes, organized by the
Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion).
The Cabinet member noted that this approach will help lay the foundation for increasing the growth potential of the country's productive apparatus in the medium and long term.
Regional Wealth
In this regard,
Minister Salardi highlighted events that showcase regional project portfolios, such as those of the Mancomunidad de Los Andes.
"I have always believed that the country's greatest wealth lies in the regions, which is why it is necessary to boost the major projects being promoted by the different governors," he stated.
The Cabinet member noted that ProInversion is a key partner for regional authorities, as collaborative efforts can drive the development of projects aimed at improving people's lives and boosting economic growth in each region.
Salardi stressed that the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) is ready to support authorities in formulating and unlocking projects to enhance their contribution to national economic growth.
Closing Infrastructure Gaps
To this end, a major reform is being prepared at ProInversion to ensure that its three key mechanisms —Works for Taxes (OxI), Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), and Investment in Assets— facilitate the accelerated development of projects.
"The goal is to make faster progress in closing the country's infrastructure gaps," he said.
Salardi also announced that an increase in the budget caps for 'Works for Taxes' projects will soon be announced, enabling subnational authorities to advance the development of high-quality infrastructure.
