Machu Picchu, one of the world’s Seven Modern Wonders, continues to be a top destination for both Peruvian and international travelers seeking to explore this stunning stone citadel and breathtaking natural landscapes. Visiting Peru’s iconic tourist attraction requires careful planning to ensure an unforgettable experience.
To meet the growing demand for visits and promote domestic tourism, the Peruvian Government has approved promotional ticket rates for 2025. These rates apply to Peruvian nationals, foreign residents in Peru, and citizens of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN).
The new prices were established in Ministerial Resolution No. 000440-2024-MC, published in the legal bulletin of the Official Gazette El Peruano.
The Ministerial Resolution also includes promotional rates for differentiated entry times to access the Inca citadel. The resolution is signed by the Minister of Culture, Fabricio Valencia.
The entrance tickets also incorporate three new circuits for visiting the Machu Picchu llaqta (city in Quechua language) which are divided into ten routes.
The measure is supported by a report from the Cusco Decentralized Culture Office, which emphasizes the importance of managing visitor flow to conserve the site, diversify tourism options, and support the local economy.
