The
participated in OTM 2025, one of the most significant tourism events in the Indian and Asian markets, held in Mumbai, India, from January 30 to February 1.
Over the three-day event, PromPeru and a delegation of 16 Peruvian tourism companies, including renowned tour operators and service providers, secured an estimated 691 business meetings and established around 2,600 commercial contacts.
This international fair, which hosted participants from over 60 countries, showcased Peru's rich tourism and cultural wealth with the goal of consolidating the country as a unique experience-driven destination in India, an increasingly important global market.
Peru's diverse tourism offering were promoted at the event, showcasing experiences in cultural, nature, and luxury tourism, particularly in Lima, Ica, Arequipa, Cusco, Puno, Loreto, and Madre de Dios regions.
Additionally, Peru was honored by the event organizers, receiving the "Best Upcoming Leisure Destination" award. This recognition reflects the growing interest in Peru as an international travel destination within the Indian market.
In 2024, Peru participated as an exhibitor at OTM India for the first time, securing potential business deals worth US$2.6 million.
This event is regarded as the gateway to India's travel market, connecting the tourism industry across India and Asia.

India is the fourth-largest source market in Asia for tourist traveling to Peru.
High-net-worth Indian travelers show the greatest interest in exploring new destinations, particularly seeking experience-based tourism, multigenerational trips, and luxury travel.
In 2024, Peru welcomed a total of 10,851 Indian tourists, marking a 36% increase compared to 2023. Moreover, last year's arrivals surpassed pre-pandemic levels from 2019 (9,505).

India is positioned as a strategic market for diversifying Peru’s tourism offerings due to its projected 22.2% growth in outbound travel worldwide.
Additionally, the average spending of Indian travelers in Peru has increased to over US$2,000, with an average stay of 8 days.
India also ranks third globally in the number of centimillionaires, individuals with a net worth of at least US$100 million.
