The
on Wednesday stated that children and youth from the country are the present of Peru.
The Head of State added that efforts are being undertaken with them to ensure they have better opportunities in the future.
"It has always been said that students, children, and youth are the future of Peru. I wonder when they become the present. For this Government, they are not the future; instead, they are the present, the today that we must work for and with, so that you can have better opportunities," she expressed.
In this regard, the top official highlighted the work carried out by the Labor minister, who, with effort and dedication, developed tools such as Mi Carrera (My Career) and Capacíta-T (Develop Your Skills) to promote more formal employment opportunities.
"This president is in charge of the country, and we are doing well, even though some may say otherwise. You are our best survey, we have projects underway in the regions, we have regained economic growth, and we are confident that more foreign investments will come," she said.
Furthermore, the president emphasized that education is important for changing life stories.
"Through the Government, we established Beca 18 (Scholarship 18 program); we are finalizing 2024; there is another opportunity: we have delivered 20,000 Beca 18 (scholarships) to Peruvian youth. We will offer more in 2025, because we forge a career by working and studying," Mrs. Boluarte said.
"We will continue with that drive and courage because we want to leave a different Peru in 2026, when we have to withdraw from the Government; we will exit through the front door, saying to Peru: mission accomplished, because we gave all our love and effort to change something, even if just a little, what had not been done in decades," she added.
