"Our Government, as a constitutional Government, respects the independence and autonomy of the Constitutional Court, which has acted with integrity in extremely critical circumstances," she expressed.
The Constitutional Court is the highest interpreter of the Constitution in Peru.
The top official indicated that we are at a time when it is imperative to support the independence of this institution, respecting the exercise of the duties of TC judges, "whose commitment to the constitutional state will guarantee the dream of republican life that generations and leaders of the country have fought for."
"The tasks that the Constitutional Court fulfills with a high degree of commitment and moral integrity of its magistrates, are framed within the national objective of forging a country with a democratic republican system of high quality, which makes Peru predictable and reliable," she said.
Likewise, In this regard, the President expressed her commitment to ensuring that the Constitution is respected and that the laws are applied, thereby guaranteeing the validity of fundamental rights, the nation's stability, the frontal fight against poverty, and the defeat of insecurity.
"We advocate that in 2025 the Constitutional Court fulfill its role of guaranteeing civilized life, that is, a country which is governed by the Constitution and in which the laws are enforced," she added.
In this regard, the President expressed her commitment to ensuring that the Constitution is respected and that the laws are applied, thereby guaranteeing the validity of fundamental rights, the nation's stability, the frontal fight against poverty, and the defeat of insecurity.
"This will only be possible if we have solid and reliable institutions such as the Constitutional Court, the Judiciary, the Public Ministry (Prosecutor's Office), and the Peruvian National Police. These institutions must be established as firm pillars that guarantee life, liberty, private property, and justice," Mrs. Boluarte said.
"Peru trusts the Constitutional Court, our Government trusts the Constitutional Court, because of the vocation and commitment of its magistrates to independent constitutional justice," she added.
