The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday attended the Attorney General's Office to issue a statement before the head of this institution, Delia Espinoza.

According to various media reports, the top official remained at the Public Ministry headquarters for about an hour.

Reports also stated that the Head of State entered the Attorney General's Office a few minutes before 8:00 a.m. and left after 9:00 a.m. (local time).

Both the entrance to the building and the exit took place amid strong security measures.

The President had arrived at the headquarters to respond to the "Caso Cofre" (Vault case).

After the hearing, the President's lawyer, Juan Carlos Portugal, reported that Mrs. Boluarte exercised her right to remain silent temporarily, pending the resolution of a request made to the Judiciary, challenging the extension of the investigation period by the Prosecutor's Office.
