Peru congratulates President Trump, wishes him success in new term

Peru extended its cordial congratulations to United States President, Donald Trump, who took office on Monday.

Through a post on the X platform, the Peruvian Presidential Office highlighted that the historic relationship of friendship between both countries will continue to strengthen.

"Peru extends its cordial congratulations to the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, on the occasion of his swearing-in today and wishes him the utmost success in his administration," the Presidency of the Republic stated last night.

"Peru is confident that under the new administration of President Trump, and within the framework of our strategic partnership, the historic relationship of friendship will continue to strengthen and will celebrate its 200th anniversary in 2026," it underscored.

Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States at an inauguration ceremony held inside the Capitol in Washington, D.C.
