The main authorities of rainforest Ucayali region have unveiled the resounding success of the Ucayali Carnival 2025, positioning it as one of the most important festivals in the Peruvian Amazon's jubilee calendar.

Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Dircetur) Head, Wilber Trujillano, reported in an interview with Andina News Agency that this 34th edition of the region's most joyful and colorful festival surpassed previous figures by at least 30%, with both national and foreign tourists who arrived in Pucallpa to take part in this remarkable, massive, and exuberant celebration, where no one can resist the contagious joy of the carnival.

Likewise, the official highlighted that tourism services, including accommodations, transportation, and food, exceeded expectations thanks to the high demand from visitors eager to experience the Ucayali Carnival 2025.

Trujillano stated that this festival has allowed for promoting Ucayali's must-see tourist attractions, especially the emblematic Yarinacocha Boulevard, which was inaugurated in July 2024.

Additionally, visitors had the opportunity to taste the irresistible and diverse Ucayali cuisine, featuring flagship dishes such as Juane, Tacacho with Cecina, Carachama Broth, Amazonian Chaufa, and many others.

They experienced the generous hospitality of the Ucayali people everywhere they went, Trujillano added.

"The Ucayali Carnival has positioned itself as a major event for tourism and economic development in the region, as it directly and indirectly drives many sectors. Now, visitors know that Ucayali is a destination that has it all. Because traveling means living," he stated.

In turn, Yarinacocha District Mayor Katherin Rodriguez emphasized the growing significance of the Ucayali Carnival as a festival that is a regional cultural heritage, representing the rich ancestral legacy preserved by indigenous peoples, along with the contributions of contemporary society.

Rodriguez stressed that, thanks to this festival, the Yarinacocha district has become the epicenter of the main celebrations, including the artisan, agro-industrial, and gastronomic fair, the Miss Ucayali Carnival pageant, the boat and canoe race —held at the emblematic boulevard— as well as the interactive "Carnavalazo" at the fairgrounds.

The mayor praised the coordinated efforts of national, regional, and local government authorities, which have fostered the continuous improvement of the organization and execution of the Ucayali Carnival, exceeding expectations each year.

"I invite tourists from all over Peru and the world to visit Pucallpa and Ucayali region, not only during the carnival but also for other celebrations throughout the year, such as the Feast of San Juan, to enjoy the stunning beauty of our attractions," she concluded.
