Peru: Puno's entrepreneurs participate at Expoacre 2022 in Brazil

12:16 | Puno (Puno region), Jul. 31.

A trading post named Tienda Puno (Puno Shop) has been set up on the premises of Expoacre 2022 —a fair held in the Brazilian State of Acre— including the participation of small Puno-based entrepreneurs in the crafts, Andean grains, and tourism industries.

The set up of the post at Expoacre was made possible with the support of the Regional Government of Puno and is intended to support small entrepreneurs.

Tienda Puno became a reality following a meeting between Puno Region Governor German Alejo Apaza and Acre Governor Gladson de Lima Cameli.

"The shop, which will be located in the city of Rio Branco, will promote Puno as a tourist destination in order to encourage Brazilian nationals to visit our region and its various tourist attractions, such as Lake Titicaca," the regional authority remarked.

Alejo affirmed that Brazilians can reach Puno through the Interoceanic Highway, a road that was precisely built to unite the peoples of Peru and Brazil.

For his part, the governor of the State of Acre explained that Expoacre 2022 provides a framework to enter into this type of trade and tourism agreements, which will benefit the populations of both countries.

Moreover, he said the event could be promoted by direct flights between Cusco or Puno and the Brazilian State of Acre.

The delegation of Puno-based entrepreneurs is participating at Expoacre 2022 —one of the most important fairs in Brazil, in the city of Rio Branco— seeking to close deals with Brazilian entrepreneurs.
