Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer and British Ambassador Gavin Cook highlighted the mutual interest in promoting trade, investments, and the signing of an agreement to avoid double taxation, in addition to fostering Peru's full membership in the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

During the meeting, both authorities discussed the cultural promotion of Peru in the United Kingdom, the harnessing of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) to benefit Peruvian micro and small enterprises (MSEs), technical cooperation, and mutual support in multilateral affairs.

Schialer and Cook underlined their shared interest in strengthening trade and investment between the two nations, with a view to signing an agreement to avoid double taxation.

The UK also reiterated its support for Peru's efforts to become a full member of the OECD, a key objective to foster the country's development and competitiveness.

In this regard, the meeting reaffirmed the solid ties of cooperation between both nations, marking a new step towards strengthening their economic, cultural, and diplomatic relations.
