President Dina Boluarte on Monday expressed her government's support for the Peruvian Army and reaffirmed the commitment to modernizing its operational capacity in 2025, at the graduation ceremony for second lieutenants and lieutenants of the Chorrillos Military School in Lima.

"We aim to have a modern Army, capable of protecting the nation from current threats and intensifying its role as an actor of national progress and development," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.

The President noted that throughout history, the Peruvian Army has defended the nation from all types of threats, participated in economic development, defended sovereignty, and served as the arm of support for citizens during emergencies caused by natural events such as El Niño phenomenon, earthquakes, landslides, and river overflows.

"Our Army has always been and will always be present whenever the homeland and Peruvians need it. Let us continue bringing State-run services closer to the most vulnerable populations; they are the ones who need them (State-run services) the most," she said.

Before members of the Bicentennial Class of the Battle of Junin and Ayacucho, the Head of State also urged them to remain strong in order to continue the pacification process in the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (Vraem), where terrorist remnants are allied with drug traffickers.

Within this framework, the top official called for the unity of all Peruvians, even those voices that speak to "invent or divide," in order to defeat poverty.

"We are here to join forces and unite. Our government is still standing, moving forward alongside you, our brothers and sisters. They (opponents) will not defeat us with their lies in 2024. More work in response to more lies, more work in response to more hatred. We will continue along the same political line in 2025," she expressed.

Likewise, President Dina Boluarte said that next year will be one of economic consolidation, featuring more public works, infrastructure, bridges, roads, hospitals, and bicentennial schools at the service of future generations.

"We will continue advancing along the path of development and economic growth until we achieve a different homeland for all our compatriots. We will do so hand-in-hand with you, the Navy, the Air Force, the National Police," she concluded.
