The Permanent Commission of Peru Congress will meet this Friday, December 27, at 9:00 a.m., in order to debate various opinions of bills that are on the Order of the Day and on the agenda.
According to the summons arranged by the president of Congress, Eduardo Salhuana, the legislative session will be in-person and on-line, in the main chamber of the Legislative Palace.
According to the agenda published on the institutional portal of the Congress, among the topics that will be debated is the opinion of Bill 6096 that proposes to modify Decree Law 25844, Law of Concessions in the electric sector.
The ruling proposes implementing Smart Metering Systems (SMI) for the benefit of users and eliminates the reconnection fee for power outages.
In addition, the ruling on Bill 7041 proposes to modify Legislative Decree 774, the Income Tax Law, in order to regulate the payment of taxes for the leasing of real estate, called fair leasing.
There is also Bill 7588, which proposes to modify Law 28587, complementary to the Consumer Protection Law on financial services, to regulate the report of the denial of a loan.
Other rulings that will be discussed are Bills 1348 and 2268, which propose modifying the Penal Code regarding the implementation of productive prisons, in order to improve the quality of life of inmates and incorporate prison labor.
In addition, there are proposals aimed at strengthening the fight against corruption in the penitentiary system and proposing measures to reduce overcrowding; and which propose modifying the calculation of the distribution of profits in favor of lower-income workers and increasing the percentage of participation of workers in the profits of electrical industrial companies, among other legislative proposals.
It should be noted that the Plenary of Congress approved, last Friday December 13th, the legislative resolution that delegates to the Permanent Commission the power to legislate from December 16th 2024 until February 28th 2025.
