Peru has begun its participation in ITB Berlin 2025 with an innovative proposal that highlights the country’s rich cultural heritage, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru) reported on Wednesday.

Sadith Silvano and Guillermina Huarhua are the two artisans who, over the three-day fair, will share their ancestral art and traditions with the German market.

Inside Peru's 300-square-meter stand, designed to transport visitors to a destination full of authentic experiences, both artisans have a dedicated space to showcase their exceptional work.

Against a Kene mural, typical of the Shipibo-Konibo community, Sadith Silvano conveys the meaning of geometric designs inspired by nature and the Amazonian worldview.

Silvano began creating her own textile products in 2018. Today, she is a renowned traditional visual artist whose goal is to promote the Shipibo-Konibo legacy and open up opportunities for the new generations of her community.

At ITB Berlin 2025, she explains to attendees the techniques and processes involved in painting on Shipibo manta fabric, as well as the natural raw materials and pigments she uses.

Meanwhile, Guillermina Huarhua, founder of the Qori Puskay (Golden Spindle) textile center in Cusco region, is in charge of showcasing and demonstrating the creation of Chinchero textiles, from spinning and dyeing to weaving.

With more than 30 years of experience in textile art, Huarhua enthusiastically shares at the fair the knowledge passed down from her grandmother, which she now continues to pass on to her children.

At ITB Berlin 2025, Guillermina is joined by her daughter Yuliana, aiming to inspire attendees to explore the world of Peruvian textile art.

Throughout the event, visitors can enjoy live demonstrations that provide an up-close look at the richness of Peruvian craftsmanship and its role as a symbol of identity and living culture.

ITB Berlin 2025 presents a key opportunity to strengthen Peru's presence in the global market and continue positioning it as a must-visit destination for travelers worldwide.

Participation in such events reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), through PromPeru, to promoting inbound tourism, which is key to Peru's economy.

This type of tourism benefits both the industry and local communities, fostering more equitable and sustainable development in the South American country.

ITB Berlin 2025 takes place from March 4 to 6.
