The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte delivered orthopedic prostheses to 32 retired police agents who suffered motor disabilities due to amputation during their participation in the fight against terrorism, common crime, and organized crime.

During this ceremony, the Head of State underscored that the Peruvian Government recognizes the service to the country performed by the Peruvian National Police, as well as the unwavering commitment of the State to the comprehensive care of the needs of the brave police officers who, during the exercise of their duties, suffered the loss or amputation of a limb.

It is important to note that the Government, through the Health Insurance Fund of the Peruvian National Police (Saludpol) and the Health Directorate (Dirsapol), made an investment of S/12 million (US$3.22 million) for the purchase of 35 orthopedic prostheses, which will benefit 32 police agents, enabling them to regain their mobility and independence.

These actions are part of the policies of the Central Government and the Interior sector, which prioritize the police family's well-being and the full recognition of their rights.

The police agents who benefit from these prostheses will be able to access a supply of resources that will enable them to significantly improve their quality of life.

The President indicated that in 2025 the Government will continue working with the same impetus and dedication for Peru, without corruption, and with key objectives such as consolidating Peruvian economy, generating more employment, promoting inclusion, and reducing poverty, not only in its economic dimension, but also in its multidimensional aspect.

Interior Minister Juan Jose Santivañez, PNP General Commander Victor Zanabria, and representatives of the National Association of Disabled of the PNP, among others, participated in the delivery ceremony on Monday.

The Ministry of Interior, through the Police Ombudsman Department, called on the PNP National Association of the Disabled (Andispol), Saludpol, and Dirsapol to successfully address this need.
