Similarly, the envoy highlighted the historical significance of his mission, as he is the first Peruvian ambassador to present credentials in Angola since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1985.
Likewise, Augusto Shaw underscored Angola's strategic importance for Peru, especially this year as it holds the African Union's Presidency.
The ambassador highlighted Peru's interest in strengthening ties through the Southern African Development Community, where it seeks observer status, and the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries, a key platform for engagement with Portuguese-speaking African nations.
He also emphasized Peru's interest, as part of the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations, in holding the first Political Consultations Mechanism in Lima.
This initiative aims to strengthen political dialogue, enhance bilateral relations, as well as promote cooperation, investment, trade, and tourism.
In turn, the Angolan President expressed his deep interest in working with Peru on issues that contribute to the prosperity of both nations and their citizens.
He welcomed the accreditation of a Peruvian Ambassador in Angola, which will bring greater dynamism to the bilateral relationship.

Ambassador Augusto Shaw's credentials, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms its commitment to strengthening Peru's relations with Africa.
The ceremony took place at the Angolan Presidential Palace in Luanda on February 26.
