As part of its cultural and academic promotion efforts, the Consul General of Peru in San Francisco, Juan Miguel Miranda, along with Deputy Consul Sergio Zapata, visited the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) to strengthen institutional ties and explore collaboration opportunities.

UC Davis —renowned for its excellence in research and its focus on sustainability and inclusion— welcomed the Peruvian delegation.

The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in agricultural, environmental, and biological sciences, as well as in engineering, medicine, business administration, social sciences, and other fields.

During a meeting with directors of the Global Affairs academic program, discussions focused on Peru's potential for training professionals in key sectors such as mining, fishing, agriculture, and agribusiness.

The opportunities that UC Davis offers for professional training and scientific research were explored as well.

Dr. Walker is the author of books on the colonial era, Cusco, the Andes, the Tupac Amaru rebellion, and the formation of Peru as a republic.
