The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte stated that she will not allow schoolchildren to be poisoned by messages of hate or gender ideologies that distort their minds during their development and upbringing within the family.

"We respect the gender identity that people choose to adopt, but this debate should not take place in educational spaces. We must not allow children to be confused. Let it be clear: we must all remain alert," Mrs. Boluarte said in a reflective tone.

The Head of State underscored that she respects everyone's right to choose their identity and acknowledged that it is up to the Congress of the Republic to enact laws ensuring equal treatment for them, but that this issue should not be addressed at schools.

She added that education should focus on values, knowledge, and the comprehensive development of children and youth, without violent ideological impositions that create division and confusion.

Collaboration is necessary

The President made these remarks during the working meeting she held with Ica Region Governor Jorge Hurtado Herrera, whom she asked for his direct participation in supervising teaching at the schools in his jurisdiction.

The top official explained to the governor that it is necessary to work together to provide children with the best education at educational institutions.

Likewise, she pointed out that her administration seeks to end the years of neglect in education and elevate it to a much higher level, with an unprecedented investment in the history of our republic.

The event was also attended by Ministers Jose Salardi (Economy-Finance), Morgan Quero (Education), Durich Whittembury (Housing), and Health sector representatives.
