Peru appoints Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Geneva

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed Luis Juan Chuquihuara Chil, retired Ambassador in the Diplomatic Service of the Republic, Permanent Representative of Peru to International Organizations based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Through Supreme Resolution No. 022-2025-RE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Thursday, the corresponding credentials and full powers are granted to the diplomat.

The date on which he must take up duties will be set by ministerial resolution.

"Within the framework of the provisions of the First Complementary Provision of Law No. 28091, and due to service requirements, it is pertinent to appoint Luis Juan Chuquihuara Chil, retired Ambassador in the Diplomatic Service of the Republic, as Permanent Representative of Peru to International Organizations Based in Geneva, Switzerland," the document stated.

Likewise, by Supreme Resolution No. 021-2025-RE, the duties of Chuquihuara Chil as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the Holy See, and to the Sovereign Military and Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and Malta, with headquarters in the Holy See, were terminated.

"To thank him for the important services rendered to the Nation in the performance of his duties," reads the resolution, which also cancels the corresponding credentials and full powers.

Chuquihuara Chil was appointed on April 14, 2024, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the Holy See and to the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta, residing at the Holy See.
