Peru's President meets with Anglo American CEO in Davos

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday held a bilateral meeting with Anglo American mining company Chief Executive Officer, Duncan Wanblad, during her visit to Davos, where the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting is taking place.

In this regard, the Presidential Office reported that the senior executive of the British corporation expressed his interest in expanding investments in Peru through Quellaveco mine, located in Moquegua region.


"President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra resumes her bilateral meetings through a fruitful dialogue with Anglo American CEO Duncan Wanblad, who expressed his interest in expanding the corporation's investments in Peru through Quellaveco mining company," reads the post on X.

President Boluarte also spoke with Ferrovial CEO Rafael del Pino in Davos.

The top official invited the company to participate in the bidding processes for seven projects promoted by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) aiming to transform connectivity and development in our country.

Meanwhile, Del Pino highlighted Peru as a strategic partner for the development of key investments such as the Peripheral Ring Road Project, which will benefit over 4.5 million residents of Lima and Callao.

"We are very pleased to be able to invest in and carry out the Peripheral Ring Road, which is greatly needed in Lima. This is our main project in Peru, and we are thrilled to be able to launch it immediately," the Ferrovial CEO expressed.
