on Friday highlighted the completion of works on the new runway at German Arias Graziani Airport, in Huaraz, whose use —he said— will boost "an unfathomable path of opportunities" for tourism in this region of Peru.
The Cabinet chief indicated that the investment made in this regard totals US$15 million, incorporates the aforementioned airport "as a fixed asset of the country," and integrates it into the national tourist economic circuit.
Within this framework, the high-ranking official said that, according to government projections, tourism will increase threefold in the region.
"An unfathomable path of opportunities opens up for the development of this chimney-less industry," Otarola said.
"Ancash (region) is now incorporated into Peru's economic tourism circuit. My appreciation to all those who contributed to making the refurbishment of the airport a reality," he added.
In this sense, Otarola indicated that this improvement at the Anta airport will not only bring more tourists to the Callejon de Huaylas but also to the tourist circuits of Chaca and the Callejon de Conchucos.
"We are going to witness a 'before and after' in Ancash development," he expressed.
