affirmed that there is focus on growing U.S. investment in our country, as well as on strengthening the bilateral relationship between both nations.
"I think we are betting on the growth of U.S. investment in Peru; we are betting on a strengthened relationship at a strategic and key moment for our country," he told RPP Noticias on Saturday.
In this regard, Ferrero said Peru is a strategic country in the region, having been, therefore, the center of the Inca Empire and the Spanish Viceroyalty many centuries ago.
"Nowadays, we are the center of investments for several countries that are betting on Peru, because we have two important topics: geography and central location overlooking the Pacific (Ocean), and the significant amount of resources we have in mining, fishing, agribusiness, and tourism sectors," Ferrero stated.
"We are an attractive country, well managed and with an efficient public apparatus; Peru could become a South American economic power," he added.
"It would be important for him to come; there might be an intention to do so, but there is no official confirmation," he concluded.
