Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea on Wednesday underscored the good organization with which meetings within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum have been taking place in different cities of Peru.

"The estimates regarding quality and quantity have been exceeded by 130 percent. We will have more than 130 to 150 meetings involving high-level officials and also people from companies, because APEC is a cooperation body to promote investments and trade where priority is given to the private sector," he told Andina news agency.

The Cabinet member indicated that this international event is "an excellent window for Peru," which will be completed with the Leaders' Summit to be held in November.

Peru is hosting APEC for the third time after the 2008 and 2016 editions.

"Besides, it shows Peru as a deeply hospitable country; there isn't a single economic sector in Peru where investment isn't possible," Gonzalez-Olaechea noted.

"Peru is one of the few countries that offers legal equality for foreigners and Peruvians; all we ask is that they comply with local laws," he concluded.
