on Wednesday stated that 2025 will also be a favorable year for Peru's economy given a series of factors, including the launch of megaprojects such as the
, as well as the greater dynamism in tax collection.
The government official recalled that Peru's economy went through a recessionary period in 2023 and declined 0.5%. Nonetheless, it will recover this year.
"Next year will be spectacular for Peru," he said in remarks to TVPeru.
The Cabinet member explained that this forecast is not only based on the improved performance of tax collection for 2025 but also on other factors.
"This is considered a step forward in tax-related matters because a large part of income tax regularization that will come from large mining companies will be very good next year," he pointed out.
Megaprojects underway
“There are many loans that are about to come out of the negative part. Corporate loans are taking off, while personal and consumer loans will continue to grow with lower interest rates,” he remarked.
Arista underlined that mortgage loans should begin to show a faster growth pace in the coming months.
He added that major mining projects are forecast to start next year.
