Peru: President chairs Council for Justice System Reform session

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday chaired the continuation of the Council for Justice System Reform 14th ordinary session.

This event saw the participation of public institution heads involved in improving this sphere.


Present at the event were Constitutional Court Chairwoman Luz Pacheco; National Justice Board Chairman Humberto De La Haza; Attorney General Juan Carlos Villena; Comptroller General Cesar Aguilar; Ombudsman Josue Gutiérrez; and Justice-Human Rights Minister Eduardo Arana.

At the previous meeting, actions were coordinated to foster the optimization of the national judicial system and the improvement of public policy for the benefit of citizens.

Among the topics discussed were the report on progress of the implementation of the 2021-2025 Justice System public policy, efforts to combat corruption in the Justice System, and the amendment to Law No. 30942 in order to incorporate new actors into the Technical Council and establish the Permanent Chairmanship of this Council at the Presidency of the Republic.

The progress in the formulation of the national policy for the Justice System was also reviewed, as were the achievements of the flagrancy units and the possibility of establishing new criminal proceedings within them.

This event took place at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima.
