on Monday stated that her administration will ensure the protection of judges and prosecutors who act firmly against delinquency and organized crime.
"If the judge or prosecutor needs police protection to make a bold decision, we will provide it. There is no pettiness here; criminals must be where they belong: in jail, not on the street causing harm," she expressed.
The top official highlighted the efforts of the Executive Branch to support the Peruvian National Police and the Armed Forces through a budget increase and salary improvements.
"We are providing logistics to the National Police; we have granted them a historic budget that they haven't had in years; we have raised the salaries of the police and the Armed Forces so that they feel motivated," she said.
During the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Tomas Valle Avenue in Callao region, the President reiterated her government's commitment to citizen security and the strengthening of the justice system in the face of advancing organized crime.
Within this framework, she addressed the need for prosecutors and judges to act with determination when administering justice.
"To those prosecutors who release criminals (we say) that the police make them available or those judges who also release them, let us work together," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.
"We will continue working for citizen security. It is not an issue exclusive to Peru, but it is not a justification to say, 'I'm sitting back and doing nothing,'" she added.
Similarly, the top official called for unity among all Peruvian citizens to combat crime.
"That is why I call on all my brothers and sisters; no one here is excluded from the fight against delinquency and organized crime," she emphasized.
Furthermore, the Head of State highlighted the unblocking of stalled public works and the fight against corruption.
"In our administration, we are unblocking projects that were stalled due to political pettiness, but also because of corruption, and that is what doesn't exist in this government: neither political pettiness nor acts of corruption," she said.
Moreover, the top official referred to her legacy and recent investigations against her, including one related to medical surgery. She clarified that the procedure was necessary to address a health problem.
