The announcement was made Sunday by Ayacucho Healthcare Network Director Flor Medina, who noted this is the fifth shipment received from EsSalud headquarters.
"This is the fifth shipment, but this time we've received a batch of 5 tons of personal protective equipment (PPE), including face masks, aprons, gloves, protective glasses, and other protective gear, in order to reinforce the safety of health workers in this region of central Peru," she said.
Medina reported that 70% of the load will be taken to Hospital No. II of Huamanga, which serves the majority of the population, while 30% will be distributed to healthcare centers on the outskirts, so as to strengthen the protection and safety of the personnel who are at the frontline of this battle against COVID-19.
