South Korea's FA Min congratulates and thanks Peru for holding APEC 2024 Presidency

At the APEC Senior Officials' Meeting in Seoul, South Korean Foreign Affairs Minister Cho Tae-yul congratulated and thanked the Peruvian Presidency for the important legacy it has left to the forum.

The Korean official stressed that the Peruvian experience reinvigorates and enriches its agenda for 2025.


2024 APEC Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM) Chair, Carlos Vasquez, and Peru's Senior Official for APEC, Renato Reyes Tagle, participate in the Informal Senior Officials' Meeting (ISOM) in Seoul, where the thematic priorities of APEC Korea 2025 will be addressed.


South Korea has taken over from Peru as host for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in 2025.


The South Korean delegation —led by the governor and mayor of Gyeongju— expressed its interest in learning from the experience of the meeting in Peru to ensure a successful organization.

Established in 1989, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum is an economic forum composed of 21 economies in the Asia-Pacific, considered the most dynamic region in the world.
