In a statement, the artist expressed her sadness about the situation, revealing that she had been hospitalized in a Miraflores district clinic.
According to her doctors at the time, she was not in a condition to perform at the National Stadium on Sunday evening.

Shakira's young children are also in Lima and were spotted strolling along the Miraflores boardwalk before later entering the clinic where the artist remained until Sunday night.
Under heavy security, her eldest son was seen and photographed yesterday afternoon.
