The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, oversaw a security operation carried out by the Peruvian National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces at train stations in the San Juan de Lurigancho district.
This action was carried out within the framework of the state of emergency, decreed by the Government to reinforce security in Lima and Callao.

“We have come to some of the stations on Line 1 of the Lima and Callao Metro to verify the actions being carried out by our police officers together with the Armed Forces and the municipal security force, since these are areas with high pedestrian traffic,” the president stated.
The president was present at the Bayovar, San Carlos, and Caja de Agua stations, where an identity check operation was deployed with the objective of detaining individuals who might have outstanding warrants.
He also verified that law enforcement agencies remain deployed and alert to any type of incident that endangers the public.
“We know this is a difficult task, given the large number of people who pass through these stations daily, but the government is committed to restoring public trust. Therefore, we will remain steadfast in the fight against crime and will take all necessary measures to guarantee the safety of the population,” he stated.

With these actions, the Transitional Government of National Reconciliation reaffirms its commitment to reclaiming public spaces and strengthening the protection of Peruvian families through ongoing oversight, operations, and coordinated efforts between the National Police, the Armed Forces, and local governments.
