Three Peruvian institutions ranked among LatAm's best universities

16:21 | London (UK), Jul. 18.

Peru claimed three positions in the prestigious Times Higher Education Latin America University Rankings 2018, its highest number yet.

In this sense, Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) is the Inca country's top-ranked institution by securing the 18th spot among the 20 best Latin American universities.

It must be noted PUCP was not ranked last year due to insufficient provision of data. Yet, it was placed 25th in 2016.

For its part, Cayetano Heredia University (UPCH) —which joined the chart for the first time— ranked at joint 41st alongside Brazil's Pontifical Catholic University of Parana.

This Peruvian educational center was also joint top of the overall ranking for citation impact.

One first-time entrant was Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC), which was placed in the 101+ banding.
