The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra on Friday affirmed he is confident that the democratic forces at Congress will act thinking about what is best for Peru, with regards to the impeachment motion currently being debated at Parliament.

The Head of State said the country has multiple needs in terms of health, education, and agriculture, among others.

"(…) I am sure that the democratic forces represented by parties at Congress will always act putting Peru first, as you know, we do," he said.

The statesman reaffirmed that he will continue working to fight COVID-19, reactivate the economy, accelerate the recovery of jobs and improve the standard of living.

"We continue working, the whole country is aware of the efforts we make every day, 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and that will not change until July 28, 2021, the day on which we will hand over the post to the new authority who will be chosen by the population of Peru," he concluded.
