Peru: PM coordinates assistance with Chiclayo authorities

Prime Minister Anibal Torres on Thursday held a meeting with local authorities of Jose Leonardo Ortiz District in the northern city of Chiclayo to coordinate assistance efforts.

Via Twitter, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) reported that the Cabinet chief arrived in this area as part of the delegation headed by the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo.

This meeting took place to address the serious problems faced by Jose Leonardo Ortiz District residents.

Earlier today, President Castillo announced the declaration of the state of emergency in the zone.

While in the area, the top official verified the local problems such as the lack of rubbish collection services, citizen insecurity, as well as the poor condition of roads and sidewalks, among other things, after visiting different streets of the above-mentioned area.
