The Pfizer laboratory assured that it will continue working with Peruvian authorities for the arrival of vaccines against COVID-19, after highlighting the first batch delivered last Wednesday.

"It is a memorable day for Peru and for all of us who are part of Pfizer and BioNTech," said Javier Sanguinetti, interim general manager of Pfizer's Andean Cluster.

"We are proud to be able to supply the first doses of our vaccine against COVID-19 to Peruvian citizens," he added.

According to the officer, the development of this vaccine is the outcome of the commitment, effort, and dedication of the scientific and manufacturing teams in charge of developing a solution that helps mitigate the pandemic.

He also stressed that Pfizer and BioNTech are firmly committed to working together so that people have equitable access to vaccines against COVID-19 worldwide, bringing the solution to this global pandemic closer and proving that science will win everywhere.

As announced today by Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez, the vaccination process will begin on March 8 with the doses purchased from said laboratory.
