Peruvians, foreigners residing in Peru, and citizens from Andean Community member countries (Bolivia, Colombia and Ecuador) will pay a promotional fee of S/64 (around US$18.80) to enter the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu in Cusco starting 2020.

The decision was made official by ministerial resolution No. 505-2019-MC of the Ministry of Culture published Tuesday in El Peruano official gazette.

According to the regulation, adult visitors will pay S/64 (about US$18.8), while university and non-university higher education students, school students, and children up to 12 years of age will pay S/32 (about US$9.4).

The resolution states that promotional fees will apply until December 31, 2020.

Additionally, it provides that minors must be accompanied by an adult, who shall be responsible for their wellbeing and supervision.

Moreover, it refers to another article of the same regulation stating that visitors must stay up to 4 hours from the moment of entry, between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
