Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez, Symphony for Peru shine at Lucerne Festival

17:40 | Lucerne (Switzerland), Aug. 19.

Renowned Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez as well as children and youth from Symphony for Peru's orchestra and choir made a difference at the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland —one of the leading classical music events on a global basis.

On August 7, at KKL Luzern (venue of the Lucerne Festival), children and youth from Symphony for Peru's orchestra and choir performed along with Superar Suisse and Vienna-based Superar orchestras.

"This has been an unforgettable experience for the 80 members of Symphony for Peru's orchestra and choir, an experience of growth, knowledge, and living together. It gave us the chance to travel to Europe in order to attend one of the most important festivals in the world, the historical Lucerne Festival, and succeed in a place where the greatest musicians participate," Symphony for Peru Director Miguel Molinari said.

The concert featured Peruvian Ambassador to Austria Eric E. Anderson and the festival superintendent, as well as important figures of the Lucerne society and great musicians.

Symphony for Peru thus had a profound impact on the attendees, who enjoyed a concert of classical pieces, traditional Swiss music songs, and traditional Peruvian music.

The concert was a high-level musical show and constituted an incredible event for the 80 children and youth from Symphony for Peru, who rehearsed and took master classes with important musical directors and European maestros for a week.

They were also able to live together with their peers, which provided an unforgettable experience for them.
