Peruvian, Japanese FA Ministers commit to continue fighting COVID-19

The Foreign Affairs Ministers of Peru and Japan on Wednesday held a phone conversation, in which they addressed important issues linked to the bilateral relationship and pledged to continue cooperating in the fight against the novel coronavirus.

According to the Peruvian Foreign Affairs Ministry, its head Mario Lopez thanked his counterpart for the valuable donations from the Government of Japan aimed at fighting COVID-19, which were allocated for the acquisition of medical equipment worth over US$8.3 million.

In the dialogue, Japanese Minister Toshimitsu Motegi expressed his desire to get to know Peru. Thus, Ambassador Lopez extended him an invitation to visit the South American country as soon as possible.

Both dignitaries also reaffirmed the importance of the 
Peru-Japan Strategic Partnership.
