The Peruvian Government —as an Observer State of the
African Union— has expressed its support for the
AU Peace and Security Council's (PSC) decision to suspend Sudan's participation in all AU activities until a civilian-led transitional authority is established.
This statement was in response to the repression caused by Sudanese military forces, which left numerous victims in Khartoum on June 3.
In this sense, the Inca country strongly advocates for the respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms in the above-mentioned country.
