Peruvian Ambassador presents credentials to Israeli President

16:04 | Jerusalem (Israel), May. 16.

Peruvian Ambassador Carlos Daniel Chavez-Taffur Schmidt has presented his credential letters to Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.

The credentials designated Chavez-Taffur Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru to the State of Israel.

On the occasion, the Peruvian diplomat extended President Martin Vizcarra's greetings and mentioned the historic aspects of the bilateral relations between both countries, as well as the existing opportunities to continue strengthening these ties.

On his part, President Rivlin acknowledged the support of the South American nation in the process of recognition of the State of Israel.

Likewise, he is confident the two countries will continue undertaking their best efforts to boost the positive relations they already share.

Furthermore, the Israeli President pleasingly recalled his visit to Peru —when he was Speaker of the Knesset— calling it a diverse and amazing country, as well as a main destination for Israeli citizens who make tourist trips to South America.

Moreover, he wished Ambassador Chavez-Taffur great success in his tenure.

The ceremony took place at the official residence of the Israeli President
