Peruvian Amb: President's trip to Mexico, U.S. will boost economy

Peruvian Representative to the United Nations, Manuel Rodriguez Cuadros, affirmed that President Pedro Castillo's trip to Mexico and the United States will allow the consolidation of national economy.

"It will lead to the consolidation of Peruvian economy," he said in remarks to TVPeru.

The ambassador stressed that the presidential trip seeks to promote the coordinated fight against the COVID-19 pandemic at the multilateral level and boost the economic reactivation to reduce social gap nationwide.

"The international environment is good for the economy; we have to overcome the problems of internal mistrust because, only with a good economy, there will be social cohesion and we will open up possibilities for the poor to be less poor and for Peru to have a more egalitarian society," he added.

Moreover, the diplomat pointed out that bilateral and multilateral meetings will lead to increasing trade relations.

The Head of State today starts a trip to Mexico and the United States, which seeks to promote the coordinated fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the multilateral sphere and boost economic reactivation to reduce social gaps in the South American country.

During this first trip overseas, the President will be accompanied by Ministers Oscar Maurtua (Foreign Affairs), Pedro Francke (Economy-Finance), Roberto Sanchez (Foreign Trade-Tourism), and Hernando Cevallos (Health).

The delegation will attend the main bilateral meetings and multilateral events during this tour scheduled for September 17-22.
