More than 130 million soles (US$ 47.2 million) has been invested in the contruction of the most modern stadium in Peru for hosting the upcoming Bolivarian Games in the northern city of Trujillo, it has been announced Monday.
"With this fund the capital of Peru's La Libertad region has finished the renewal of its sporting infrastructure and construction of venues," said Cesar Acuña, Trujillo's city mayor.
Among the most outstanding venues for the events is an athlete village which will be home of 2,000 top sportsmen participating in this Game's edition.
Trujillo's top official noted the latest arena has a 5,000 spectator-capacity and a sports centre with a capacity of up to 2,000 people.
Furthermore, Acuña said that, as part of the venues' improvements, the city's pool has been updated after 80 years with a US$ 4.36 million investment.
He also stressed the central government has allocated US$ 13 million for the construction of a high-performance centre in the also known as the Spring City.
The 2013 Bolivarian Games will be held in this northern Peruvian city over two weekends from November 16-30, 2013.
