The Peruvian Government guarantees clean, transparent, and democratic elections, said President Martin Vizcarra who confirmed that there is no justification to think that the April 2021 general elections could be at risk.

The top official recalled that countries like Bolivia held elections a week ago, and the United States will hold its own this November, in the midst of a pandemic, but taking all the necessary biosafety measures to avoid COVID-19 contagion.

In this sense, the statesman said there is no reason or justification to think that next year's elections could be at risk.

Today's remarks were made during a televised address to the nation from the Government Palace in Lima.

President Vizcarra was joined by Prime Minister Walter Martos and other Cabinet members on the occasion.
