The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday affirmed that she will not allow those who launched a coup in Peru to attempt to destabilize a legitimate government.

Thus, the Head of State called on Peruvians to reject and leave behind those scourges, such as corruption, that harm the country.

Within this framework, the top official indicated that each crisis has taught us reality. She added that corruption, inefficiency, and infamous manipulation must be left behind, saying that the purpose of those scourges is to cover up fugitives from justice.

The President said that, from the Government, Executive Branch officials "emphatically reject the interference that has existed in our tutelary institutions, such as the National Police."

Therefore, a reform will be undertaken to promote the agents committed "to the institution, the fight against citizen insecurity, and the frontal fight against corruption."

In this sense, Mrs. Boluarte called on citizens to "leave behind the sterile confrontation," which merely seeks to destabilize Peruvian institutions and democracy.

Similarly, she called on Peruvians not to allow those who had staged a coup to "weaken the legitimate and constitutional government that works for Peru."

Furthermore, the President reaffirmed Peru's commitment to protect Antarctica, its biodiversity, natural resources, and climate in order to maintain a clean continent that enables the human species to face future challenges.

The Commander-in-Chief greeted the BAP Carrasco crew, who included members of the Peruvian Navy (73), Army (20), Air Force (8), scientists from Peruvian universities (8), and Foreign Affairs Ministry representatives (2).

Mrs. Boluarte also affirmed that, thanks to this scientific campaign, Peru has taken a new step to strengthen our rights and presence in the so-called White Continent, with research and contributions made in favor of future generations.

She mentioned that this new Peruvian expedition was part of "the National Antarctic Policy, a State policy that aims to protect our interests and rights, as well as consolidate our active and permanent presence in Antarctica."

As the President reminded citizens, it is essential to protect this continent's biodiversity and natural resources, particularly freshwater reserves, due to their importance in tackling climate change and preserving the survival of the human species.

She added that, in this expedition, the scientific unit and the most modern floating laboratory in the region traveled a total of 8,540 nautical miles. Said campaign lasted a total of 70 days, and 5 studies were  conducted on issues related to the evaluation of oceanographic, meteorological, and biological indicators.

Besides, various visits were made to the scientific stations in Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, Spain, Poland, and Uruguay so as to share experiences and information.

Moreover, President Boluarte affirmed that Peru will continue "building its future in democracy, with dialogue, social inclusion, humane face, and equality."

It will also continue to consolidate its presence in Antarctica and on the international stage, facing the ravages of nature.
