on Monday reported that there was an immediate response from law enforcement at the southern border in the face of a massive presence of irregular migrants.
The Head of State added that corrective measures will be taken on this issue.
"They took advantage of a moment, but there was an immediate response from the law enforcement forces deployed in the area. I am awaiting the report on the corrective measures that have been implemented there," he told reporters.
Asked whether an air corridor could be implemented for migrants, he mentioned that the issue is being assessed by the Foreign Affairs Ministers of Peru and Chile, within the framework of international humanitarian law and our national autonomy.
Within this framework, the Head of State announced that the new national citizen security plan, aimed at curbing and eliminating crime, will be presented in the first half of 2026.
According to him, the new document will be based on the Bratton Plan, the 2013–2018 Plan, international experiences, and the agreements adopted in coordination bodies such as Conasec.
"We do not want a desk plan or one that is like a thesis. We do not want a plan that promises things that will never be fulfilled, but a grounded plan, where all the entities involved in the fight against citizen insecurity at different levels have a clear, precise, and measurable role over time," he emphasized.
The top official stated that the new plan will coordinate efforts and serve as both a legacy and a tool for the next administration to continue the direct fight for citizen security.
