The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Friday affirmed that from now on native communities will be allowed to accredit a representative before the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) in order to forward their requirements to this instance.

During a meeting with representatives of native peoples of Pasco, Mr. Castillo pointed out that said effort will enable the needs of these communities to be met more promptly.

"Let our brothers organize themselves in the best way so that they can have a representative at the PCM, and so that they can have a living voice there and communities can be served," he expressed.

According to the top official, this will be a direct link and "the authentic voice" which will allow them to receive a solution to their requirements.

Irregularities ruled out

During his speech, the Head of State also stressed that his government will not be immersed in irregularities.

"You will never find or see a shred of this government that has had the intention of getting their hands on the money of all Peruvians," Mr. Castillo said.

"You will never see us mired in corruption acts," he added.

Furthermore, the top official affirmed that there are sectors "which do not want us to get closer to our people" and that "do not want to see a rural President leading the destinies of the country."

"We must fight so that the next President is a native Amazonian brother," he said.

Mr. Castillo also demanded that local and regional authorities act with transparency and asked ministers to welcome the native communities to their offices.

After this meeting with native community representatives, the Head of State continued fulfilling activities in Oxapampa.
