Peruvian Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez on Thursday affirmed that the Executive Branch ratifies its willingness for transparency and permanent dialogue with all State powers —including the Congress of the Republic.

The high-ranking official participated in a Parliament virtual plenary session to address the Government's strategy aimed at facing the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We reaffirm our desire for transparency and permanent dialogue among the State powers (…)," she expressed.

The Ministerial Cabinet chief attended the plenary session joined by Ministers Elizabeth Astete (Foreign Affairs), Pilar Mazzetti (Health), and Eduardo Gonzalez (Transport and Communications).

"What we are going to present is the current situation of the pandemic and the Executive Branch's strategy to face this situation. There are four issues that we are going to address (...)," she said.

The first topic is the scope of the strategy in order to take a holistic view of what the Executive Branch proposes and executes.

The second entails a current view of the pandemic in Peru within the context of what is happening at the international level.

Likewise, the criteria for the implementation of prevention measures, as well as the status of negotiations for the acquisition of vaccines, and the vaccination strategy are also part of the talking points.

In this sense, Bermudez affirmed that this reduction is carried out through three lines of work: preventing contagion, attending to COVID-19 patients, and vaccinating citizens.
