Peruvian Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez on Tuesday participated in the handover ceremony of a cryogenic oxygen plant, which will be sent to Pacasmayo city in La Libertad region within the framework of efforts aimed at treating COVID-19 patients.

This equipment —which is destined for medicinal purposes— has characteristics similar to those of an oxygen generator, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers reported.

It has the capacity to produce 170 cubic meters of medical oxygen per hour and is capable of filling between 350 and 400 cylinders —of ten cubic meters each— per day.

This cryogenic plant has been manufactured in India using Italian technology.

The event took place at the Fargoline Warehouse in Callao.

During the ceremony, the Cabinet chief was accompanied by Transport and Communications Minister Eduardo Gonzalez.
