on Wednesday affirmed that climate change constitutes a threat to peoples' health, as well as requires our greatest commitment and effort as a nation.
However, the high-ranking official warned that the planet's situation forces nations to acknowledge the serious damage caused by mankind and that only through joint actions by different countries it can be remedied.
"The traditional thing is that the urgent always prevails over the important, but that has not always worked, especially for our overwhelmed planet," he expressed.
"Like the COVID-19 pandemic,
climate change threatens the health of all mankind and requires our greatest commitment and effort as a nation (...) We need to work together as a nation for the well-being of present and future generations," he expressed.
He also stressed that said space represents the commitment of the Peruvian State to strengthen the national response to
climate change from the highest political level.
