Peru's oil production hit 63,738 barrels per day in Nov 2019

17:04 | Lima, Dec. 3.

Peru's oil production reached 63,738 barrels per day (bpd) in November this year, a figure that has not been seen since December 2014, State-run Perupetro reported on Tuesday.

This is an important figure considering the target of 100,000 bpd set by Perupetro for 2023.

This output recovery was underpinned by Blocks 95 and X, which made significant investments this year for the development of oil fields.

Block X produced 15,195 oil barrels per day, Block 192 reached an output of 9,305 bpd, and Block 95 had a production capacity of 8,068 bpd.

Next is Block 8, which normalized operations in November, thereby resulting in a production of 6,674 bpd.

Block Z-2B produced 6,529 bpd and Block 131 reached an output of 2,847 bpd, among other blocks.

Perspective

This trend is expected to continue in the coming months, driven by investments set in various blocks for the development of oil fields.
