"When this occurs, the support of regional governments will be important to efficiently distribute and implement them," the high-ranking official expressed.
Likewise, the Cabinet member pointed out that pulse oximeters and oxygen tanks have been delivered to reinforce primary care level.
In this sense, she requested regional governors to cooperate, so that the equipment can reach health centers.
Furthermore, the minister thanked the regions that have sent their doctors to training programs.
"This way, we support them so that they can work in a hierarchy, and so that an Intensive Care Unit doctor can work with other physicians," she added.
Concerning investments made in the health sector, the government official stated that they must become a reality because most healthcare centers are in critical situation.
"The real challenge is to rebuild (them) amid this pandemic," Dr. Mazzetti affirmed.
Remarks were made during the inauguration of the 15th Extraordinary Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Health in Lima.
The event was also attended by regional governors.
